Core 4 Program, Part I & Part II
IRMA’s Core 4 Program is an essential training for all members. The focus is on the four basic principles for managing liability and personnel risk within your organization – Accident Investigation, Root Cause Analysis, Accident Review Boards and Executive Safety Committees. These trainings include course instruction, fillable forms and templates, policy samples, and hands-on learning with case studies to practice the concepts. Core 4, Part I: Accident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
This presentation will cover the essentials of how to conduct an accident investigation and determine a root cause of why the accident occurred. Content includes required reporting, keys to gathering information as an investigator, and how to properly complete and submit documents for review and follow up. Two root cause analysis techniques will be taught as well as the Deming Principle as a method to ensure corrective actions are completed and followed through.
Course Length: 1.5 hours in length
Intended Audience: Supervisors responsible for investigating, documenting, and reporting employee injuries, property damage, or non-employee incidents to their employer.
Core 4, Part I is a prerequisite and should be completed within 90 days prior to Core 4, Part II
Core 4, Part II: Accident Review Boards & Executive Safety Committees
This presentation will cover the essentials of the next steps after a supervisor completes an accident investigation and determines a root cause of why the accident occurred. Content includes defining accident review boards and their function as well as how a safety committee should be structured. Two root cause analysis techniques will be taught as well as the Deming Principle as a method to ensure corrective actions are completed and followed through.
Course Length: 1.5 hours in length
Intended Audience: Supervisors and Department heads responsible for overseeing their department and executive level safety committees.
Core 4, Part II should be completed within 90 days after successfully completing Core 4, Part I
