IRMA offers a 50% reimbursement grant to members achieving nationwide accreditations. Members are also offered 25% reimbursement each time reaccreditation is achieved. The maximum award amount for this grant is $3,500.

Ballistic Protective Equipment Program
Ballistic Protective Equipment Program
There is an increased amount of gun violence occurring nationally and within IRMA member communities. The changing role and operations of emergency management of active shooter events requires the need for body armor. The equipment is now being accepted as all-hazard personal protective equipment for police and fire personnel. This grant includes equipment purchases of ballistic vests, plates and/or helmets. Body Camera & Video Storage Grant Program
Body Camera & Video Storage Grant Program
Nationally police departments are under scrutiny regarding interactions with the public which is resulting in increased litigation against departments and individual officers. The use of body cameras can have a positive effect on reducing and defending law enforcement liability claims. To assist members, IRMA offers a Body Camera & Data Storage Grant Program that includes financial support for member departments in the implementation of a body camera program, including product purchases and data storage for body camera footage.

Facility Equipment & Safety Grant Program
Facility Equipment & Safety Grant Program
IRMA Loss Control Visits provide Members with facility and safety recommendations. This grant will assist members with the costs of implementing corrective actions increasing the safety of facilities and reducing hazards for all staff.
Fleet Safety Training & Equipment Grant Program
Vehicle accidents affect all lines of coverage therefore it is imperative that resources focus on driver training, equipment, and/or technology enhancements that will reduce the frequency and severity of accidents.
Health & Wellness Grant Programs
Health & Wellness Grant Program Application
IRMA offers a 50% reimbursement grant, up to a maximum award of $1,700, to members conducting Backsafe training by Future Industrial Technologies, Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, and Athletico Rehab Post-Offer testing. Additionally, members can submit other injury prevention programs such as wellness programs targeted at physical conditioning or mental health management for grant consideration.
IRMA Training Subsidy Program
IRMA offers training subsidy program for select certifications and trainings targeted at increasing safety and reducing losses within your organization. To participate, the Training Subsidy Program Application should be completed and submitted to
grants@irmarisk.org prior to the training course date to receive funding approval. Upon course completion, a copy of enrolled participant completion certificates, certification copies (if applicable, example: instructor certification cards or flagger cards), an itemized invoice and proof of payment must be submitted to receive the award.

Lexipol Policy Manual Development Program
Lexipol Grant Application
IRMA offers up to 50% reimbursement grant, up to a maximum award of $4,000, to member police and fire departments for the initial development of a comprehensive policy manual by Lexipol.
Lift Assist Equipment Program
Lift Assist Equipment Program
Significant injuries attributed to lifting, pushing, pulling, and inadequate assistance with heavy lifting continue to be a cost driver for workers' compensation losses. To reduce these types of injuries, IRMA is offering a general equipment grant targeted at general lifting assistance tools to incentivize investment in safe lifting, including hydraulic lift gates for vehicles, back-pack blowers, cylinder lifting equipment, portable cranes or lifts, multipurpose utility carts or dollies, hydraulic dolly and jacks, power lift equipment, hydraulic valve operators, hydraulic hydrant openers, and manhole cover lifting devices (hydraulic or magnetic). Traffic Control & Work Zone Safety Equipment Program
Work Zone Safety Equipment Program
Managing safety on public roadways while performing essential job duties has always been an arduous task; however, the risks are on the rise due to cell phones and distracted drivers. It is imperative that members use all available resources to protect workers while they are on the roadway. There are various devices and equipment available to assist. This grant program should serve to highlight simple, inexpensive purchases which are effective at preventing injuries, including traffic cones and barrels, work zone signals, stop/slow paddles, emergency flags, automated flagger assistance devices (Type A or Type B), portable construction lights, roadway or electric message boards, attenuators, roll-up boards, Class II or III work zone vests, traffic or crowd control barricades and portable rumble strips.
